Electronic books, also known as eBooks, are located in the library's online databases. While you may come across some eBooks in Koha, the majority can be found by searching these databases. The easiest way to search for all available eBooks is to use the A-Z Title List search. Most eBooks will be located in either ProQuest Databases, or EBSCO Databases.
Each platform has a slightly different search feature, but generally work the same way as searching the library's catalog. You may enter keywords, titles, authors, ISBNs, subjects and more. The advanced search features allow you to limit your search and add additional search boxes.

WJC Library has access to over 150,000 physical and electronic books. If you cannot find the book you want in our library, we will try to order it for you from another library via a service called interlibrary loan.
We have a few different types of books:
All of the regular stacks and reserve books are cataloged in our catalog, called Koha. Only some of our electronic books are in the catalog. The rest are located within two online databases, EBSCOhost and ProQuest.
Most basic searches can be conducted right from the search box on the home page. Simply enter a keyword, title, author, subject, or ISBN - use the dropdown to specify which you are searching - and click on the Go button.
An advanced search lets you limit by item type (book, ebook, video, test kit, etc.) and enter additional search fields. Click on Advanced Search to use these features.
Once you find an item you'd like to check out, bring the title, author, and call number to the library desk for help retrieving it. You will find all of this information in the book's catalog record.
All physical books (located on the library shelves) have a shelf location and call number included in the record. Bring these, along with the title and author, to the library desk and staff will help you retrieve the item.
The record for an electronic item will have the link to access the resource. You will be required to log in if you are off-campus.
